About The Musical:
What some people won't do for a little band of gold.
A golden ring inspires all sorts of romantic entanglements, conspiracies, deceptions and comical complications in the musical Das Barbecü
It puts a Texas twang on a story of centuries-old rivalries and the romance between Siegfried and Brunhilde,
served with a lot of humor and a side of guacamole.
"Conjure up your basic Texas hootenanny, complete with lassos, long-neck beers and guitars. Marry that image with Wagner's Ring Cycle in all its melodramatic intensity. These improbable, no impossible, bedfellows come deliriously together in a splendidly giddy musical."
Set in various locations throughout present day Texas, the musical is loosely based on Richard Wagner's massive four-part 20-hour opera cycle Der Ring Des Niebelungen - neatly compressed into a fun little two-hour musical comedy. |
