Cobb's Comedy Club, San Francisco
Cobb's Comedy Club has presented the finest comedy talent in the industry since its founding in 1982.
Originally known at Cobb's Pub.
Many famous comedians graced the stage over the years: Jim Carrey, Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, Joe Rogan, Louis CK, Dana Carvey, Dave Chappelle and other regulars of the late shows and Comedy Central.
Comedy Club was opened on Chestnut Street in San Francisco's Marina District. In 1987, it moved to the Cannery Shopping Center in the historic Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco neighborhood, where it thrived for over a decade. In 2002, a fire resulted in Cobb's relocation to 915 Columbus Avenue, where it remains today.
I did the production design and scenic painted the permanent stage set for the re-opening of the 400 seat comedy club in 2005.
A modular, fun, askew and retro set design, that could be easily removed for larger events if needed to.
The stage was home to many Comedians and Musicians over the years.
